Identifying DHCP Servers
Figure 2-7
shows the first stage of the process of acquiring a new IP address from
a router configured as a BootP relay agent.

To identify DHCP servers, the DHCP client broadcasts a DHCPDISCOVER
packet, which is used to locate available DHCP servers on the network. Table 2-4
describes the fields in a DHCP packet.
