Native Dialpad
You can choose to use the Native dialpad rather than the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry to place
your calls. For example, if you need to place an emergency or personal call, use the Native dialpad.
To use the Native dialpad, do one of the following actions.
Press Talk (green) on your BlackBerry while the BlackBerry home pane is active. The Native dialpad
appears.
Note: When you place a cellular call or execute a telephony feature with the Avaya 3100 MC - Client
for BlackBerry, the native dialpad appears briefly, then the Phone pane appears.
Dial an emergency number on the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry dialpad and select Call.
Note: Assuming that the Avaya 3100 Mobile Communicator Gateway is configured for emergency
numbers, the system automatically switches to the native dialer and places the call over the cellular
network. If the Avaya 3100 Mobile Communicator Gateway does not recognize the number, you must
manually select the native dialer to place the call.
