automatically downloaded.
Network
Connection
Select a network connection type:
• Internal BES: the Avaya 3100 MC - Client
connects to the Avaya 3100 Mobile
Communicator Gateway through a BlackBerry
Enterprise Server (BES) located on the
enterprise network.
• External BES: the Avaya 3100 MC - Client
connects to the Avaya 3100 Mobile
Communicator Gateway using a hosted BES
located on the Internet.
• Non BES: the Avaya 3100 MC - Client connects
directly to the network over the Internet. In a
non-BES environment, you may be required to
install a security certificate and configure the
Access Point Name (APN) on your BlackBerry.
Note: If you are using the Avaya 3100 MC -
Client in a non-BES or External BES
environment, your system administrator may
instruct you to install a security certificate and
configure the APN on your device. You can use
the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (BDM) to
install the certificate, and program the APN in
the TCP section of your BlackBerry’s Advanced
Settings. Your system administrator will provide
you with detailed instructions to complete these
tasks.
