Initial configuration
The first time you start the Avaya 3100 Mobile Communicator Client (Avaya 3100 MC - Client) after you
install it on your BlackBerry, you must configure the following parameters provided by your system
administrator.
Entering the initial configuration settings for the Avaya 3100 MC - Client
1. Obtain your basic login settings from your system administrator.
2. Connect your BlackBerry to the cellular network.
3. From your BlackBerry’s Main menu, select Avaya 3100 MC - Client.
The Initial Login pane displays.
4. Complete the fields using the information in the table below as a guide:

Parameter Description
Username The account user name on the enterprise network.
Password The account password on the enterprise network.
Avaya 3100
Mobile
Communicator
Gateway
Address
Enter the address of the primary Avaya 3100
Mobile Communicator Gateway using the format:
http://<IP address | FQDN>:<port>
OR
https://<IP address | FQDN>:<port>
Typical port settings are 8443 for Hypertext
Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and 8080 for
Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). If the default
port of 8080 is in use on the Avaya 3100 Mobile
Communicator Gateway, then only the IP address
or FQDN is required.
