dependent on the available system resources.
Exiting the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for
BlackBerry application
Normally, there is no need to exist the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry application. You can leave
the application running for the entire time that the mobile device is turned on. You must, however, exit
before performing software maintenance tasks.
Exiting the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry
1. From the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry main menu, select Menu, Quit.
Note 1: You must exit the application before installing, upgrading, or uninstalling the software.
Note 2: Avaya recommends that you exit the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry application before
shutting off your BlackBerry.
Logging on and logging off
You may want to log off the network but leave the application running.
The Avaya 3100 MC - Client for BlackBerry application remains active when you are logged off. For more
information about how to exit the application, see “Starting and exiting the Avaya 3100 MC - Client for
BlackBerry application” on page 35.

If you logged off and the application is running, you can log back on.
Logging on
• To log on, select Menu, Login.
The login status indicator changes to Online when you are logged on.
Logon status messages
Status messages display as the Avaya 3100 MC - Client attempts to log on to the system. Message
urgency is indicated by colored icons.
• Blue: For information purposes only. No corrective action is required.
• Yellow: Warning. You may have to reconfigure your application or BlackBerry settings.
• Red: Error. Before logging on to the system, reconfigure your application or BlackBerry settings.

• To log off, select Menu, Logout.
The login status indicator changes to Logged Out.
Turning off autologin
The Avaya 3100 MC - Client automatically attempts to log on to the system at device start up. The process
is repeated every few minutes until it successfully logs on to the system.
