Dial-on-Demand for an ISDN Network
Figure B-3 illustrates dial-on-demand service configured for an ISDN network. In
this configuration:
• The BLN is using a dual port MCT1 link module (port 2) for its PRI interface.
• The ISDN switch type is PRI 5ESS.
• The IP static route configurations are not listed for the Ethernet interfaces.
(Typically, there would be static routes.)
This example assumes the following:
• All BRI connections use a National ISDN 1 (NI1) switch.
• There is no incoming call filtering.
• Sending complete IEs are not used for call setup.
• The adaption rate is 64 Kb/s.
• CHAP is the PPP authentication protocol.
• IP is the only LAN protocol configured.
• The Ethernet segments shown in the network illustration are not configured.
• Only one phone number and SPID are used. (BRI lines usually have two
phone numbers and SPIDs.)
