The router on the other end of the connection, router 7, will need to
configured with the corresponding pieces so either side can activate the
circuit.

Define router 4’s local CHAP name and secret so it can identify itself to
the router 7.

Set the connection mode for router 4 to collision-master to ensure that if
both sides of the connection try to activate the circuit, router 7 will allow
router 4 to initiate the call.

Specify the outgoing phone number. This is the phone number for
router 7.

To create the dial-on-demand configuration in Figure B-1
on page B-2, configure
router 7 as follows:

Start the BCC and enter configuration mode:

Create a dial object for serial interface slot 2, connector 3. PPP is the data
link protocol.
