Specifying a Timeout Value for Multicast Table Entries
By default, the timeout period for an entry in the multicast table is 60 seconds if
there is no multicast data to refresh the entry.
You can use the BCC or Site Manager to specify a value for this parameter.
Using the BCC
Navigate to the IGMP Relay prompt and enter:
fwd-timeout
<seconds>
seconds
is the timeout period for an entry in the multicast table.
For example, the following command specifies a lifetime of 45 seconds for table
entries:
relay#
fwd-timeout 45
relay#
Using Site Manager
To specify a timeout value for multicast table entries:
Site Manager Procedure

1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose
Protocols
.
The Protocols menu opens.
2. Choose
IP
. The IP menu opens.
3. Choose
IGMP/IGMP Relay
. The IGMP menu opens.
4. Choose
Global
. The IGMP Global Configuration window
opens.
5. Set the
Relay Forwarding Timeout
parameter. Click on
Help
or see the
parameter description on page A-20.
6. Click on
Save
. You return to the Configuration Manager
window.
