important that the particular component intended to receive a given command be
clearly specified on the command line.
In general, the syntax of the command line takes the form of the name of the category
for which the command is intended, followed by a pound symbol (#), the component
type, a period, and the component number to which the command is being issued. For
example, vos#mps3 refers to the VOS software process group on MPS number 3.
This information is preceeded by the srp command and followed by an argument:
thus, a complete command example based on the above is srp vos#mps3
-status.
The component IP address can be substituted for the node name (identifier) when
issuing SRP commands.
