Vocabulary MMF Files vs. CMR MMF Files
Applications use MMF files as vocabularies to output named elements over the
telephone lines. To make recordings from callers, applications use MMF files that are
designated for use with the CMR (Caller Message Recording) feature. Although it is
possible to both record into and play back from a single MMF file, separate files are
generally used for vocabulary and CMR functions.
For more information on CMR, see the Avaya Media Processing Server Series Caller
Message Recording (CMR) Feature Documentation. The sections that follow
concentrate on using MMF files for vocabularies.
For the purpose of providing voice output over telephone lines, MMF files are played
from cache memory.
