Chapter 10
In Windows 95 on a
LAN:
Attempted to start
Server software.
Received message that
Omninames and/or
ConnectionServer is/are
not running.
Omninames and/or
ConnectionServer is/are
not running.
1. Close all applications.
2. Reboot the PC.
3. Wait three minutes.
4. Restart Server
software.
This allows time for the
TCP/IP stacks to correctly
set up on your PC/LAN.
or
Restart Omninames and
ConnectionServer:
1. Open C:\Programs
Files\Lucent\
BCMS Vu\Common.
2. Double-click on
ConnectionServer.exe.
3. Open the Task
Manager (Ctrl-Alt-
Del) and verify that
ConnectionServer.exe is
running.
4. Close Task Manager.
5. Double click on
omniNames.exe.
6. Verify that
omniNames.exe is
running, (step 3) and
close Task Manager.
