Disabling or Re-enabling Syslog Hosts or Filters

You can disable or re-enable host or ﬁlter entries already deﬁned in your Syslog

conﬁguration as follows:

1. Disable or re-enable message forwarding to a Syslog host, as follows:

a. Disable a Syslog host anytime after adding it to the router

conﬁguration by entering the following command line:

$: set

wfSyslogHostEntry.wfSyslogHostDisable.

2;commit

Disabling a host

• Transitions the operational state of that Syslog host entry and its

corresponding ﬁlters to INACTIVE

• Stops Syslog from forwarding event messages to the host

b. Re-enable message forwarding to a speciﬁc Syslog host by entering

the following command line:

$: set

wfSyslogHostEntry.wfSyslogHostDisable.

1;commit

Re-enabling a host

• Transitions the operational state of that Syslog host entry and its

corresponding ﬁlters to ACTIVE

• Allows Syslog to resume forwarding event messages to the host

2. Disable or re-enable an entity ﬁlter for a speciﬁc Syslog host, as follows:

a. Disable an entity ﬁlter anytime after adding it to the router

conﬁguration by entering the following command line:

$: set wfSyslogEntFltrEntry.wfSyslogEntFltrDisable.

<wfSyslogEntFltrHostIndex>.<wfSyslogEntFltrNum>.

2;commit

Disabling a ﬁlter

• Transitions the operational state of that ﬁlter

(wfSyslogEntrFltrOperState) to INACTIVE

• Stops Syslog from forwarding event messages through that ﬁlter
