Parameter: UnNumbered Assoc Address

Default: None

Options: Any valid IP address

Function: Speciﬁes an address that IP uses when sourcing a packet.

Routing Information Protocol (RIP) uses this address to make decisions

about advertising subnets over the unnumbered interface if the subnets

have the same mask as the associated address.

Instructions: Specify the address of any numbered interface on the router.

Accessing SNMP Parameters

Use the Conﬁguration Manager to edit SNMP parameters for IP interfaces.

You access all SNMP parameters from the Conﬁguration Manager window

(Figure 1-3). Refer to the book Conﬁguring Routers or Conﬁguring Customer

Access and Trunks (BNX Software), depending on the type of installed software,

for instructions on accessing this window.

For each SNMP parameter, this chapter provides information about default

settings, valid parameter options, the parameter function, instructions for setting

the parameter, and the Management Information Base (MIB) object ID.

The Technician Interface allows you to modify parameters by issuing

set and

commit commands with the MIB object ID. This process is equivalent to

modifying parameters using Site Manager. For more information about using the

Technician Interface to access the MIB, refer to Using Technician Interface

Software.

Note: The instructions in this section assume that you have already conﬁgured

at least one IP interface. If you have not yet conﬁgured an IP interface, or

want to add additional IP interfaces, refer to “Enabling SNMP Services”for

instructions.

Caution: The Technician Interface does not verify that the value you enter for

a parameter is valid. Entering an invalid value can corrupt your

conﬁguration.
