Multiple protocols on a
single port
The problem is most likely in the
physical or data link layer. Physical
layer problems can include the
same conditions listed under
“Multiple protocols on multiple
ports within one slot.” Data link
layer problems include the
following types of connections:
-- Ethernet
-- Frame relay
-- MCT1
-- Synchronous
-- FDDI
Refer to the chapter on troubleshooting a data
link connection in

for detailed diagnostic procedures and
responses.
