VTCPD Features User Manual
Application Connection Choice
The VTCPD option -m l forces the daemon to use the same link for SEND routing.
This specific link use for SEND routing may be required if there are specific host
processing options, or host process memory requirements that are associated directly
with an individual line. This option only works if the host receives no other requests
before the application sends its reply.
If several hosts send requests while the application is still processing, the routing
information must be included with data sent by the application. To include the routing
data, use the VTCPD option -m L. VTCPD includes the routing data by prepending
each message with 12 ASCII bytes in the format XXX:YYY:ZZZ, where XXX is the
link number to use (YYY and ZZZ are reserved for future use). The application also
prepends this header to all messages sent to VTCPD to guarantee delivery of all
messages to the host through the link XXX.
