Host Simulation
For testing and debugging or if the host is temporarily unavailable, the host may be
simulated using an instance of VTCPD and one or more PERIProducer applications.
The simulator has to be started in the inverted and server modes if the main VTCPD is
running in direct and client modes and vice versa. The simulating VTCPD delivers all
host messages to the PERIProducer application and the PERIProducer application
sends the messages that would normally come from the host.
For this purposes both the VTCPD daemon and the application can be attached to the
simulating VMST, started for example:
If the main VTCPD is running in direct and client mode, the simulating VTCPD must
be running in inverted and server mode; if the main VTCPD is running in inverted and
server mode, the simulating VTCPD must be running in direct and client mode. For
information about configuring VTCPD, see the Avaya Media Processing Server Series
System Reference Manual.
