Managing the DCM Using Site Manager
To manage the installed DCM, you can use Site Manager to do the following:
Change the DCMMW configuration
Enable or disable a default RMON Max Host, Default Host, and Default
Matrix configuration
Activate, temporarily disable, and boot the DCM
Deactivate the DCM by disabling the DCMMW
You use Optivity Analysis or a third-party RMON network management
application to set up RMON configurations and view statistics.
Activating the DCM
You can use Site Manager to activate the DCM.
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Configuration Manager window,
choose Platform.
The Platform menu opens.
2. Choose DCM 11.0 and later. The DCM 11.0 and Later menu opens.
3. Choose Create Base Module DCM.
For the ARN only, you can enable a DCM
on both an Ethernet base module and an
Ethernet expansion module. To create the
DCMMW on an ARN expansion module
with an installed DCM, choose Create
Expansion Module DCM.
The Edit Base Module DCM Parameters
window opens.
If you chose Create Expansion Module
DCM for an ARN, the Edit Expansion
Module DCM Parameters window opens;
the parameters are identical to those in
the Edit Base Module DCM Parameters
window.
4. Set the Enable/Disable parameter to
Enable. Site Manager
: Enable/Disable
parameter: page A-10.
5. Click on OK. You return to the Configuration Manager
window.
