You can conﬁgure inbound trafﬁc ﬁlters only. You can conﬁgure outbound trafﬁc ﬁlters (on

synchronous circuits only), as well as inbound

trafﬁc ﬁlters.

You can deﬁne multiple ﬁlters at the same

precedence level (31 possible levels).

You must deﬁne each ﬁlter at a different

precedence level (31 possible levels).

You can identify multiple ﬁelds within a ﬁlter, and

multiple ranges within each ﬁeld.

No change.

The highest precedence level for a Version 5 ﬁlter

is 31; the lowest is 1.

Precedence levels are reversed. The highest

precedence level for a Version 10.0 ﬁlter is 1; the

lowest is 31.

A Rule Number assigned to each ﬁlter enables

you to keep track of how many ﬁlters you deﬁne

on an interface (maximum of 31 ﬁlters).

A Filter Number assigned to each ﬁlter enables

you to keep track of how many ﬁlters you deﬁne

on an interface (maximum of 31 ﬁlters).

The Rule Number and Precedence Level

assigned to a ﬁlter are unrelated numbers.

The Filter Number and Precedence Level

assigned to a ﬁlter are the same number. Filter

Number 1 = Precedence Level 1 (highest); Filter

Number 31 = Precedence Level 31 (lowest).

You can change the precedence level assigned to

a ﬁlter.

You can change the precedence level assigned to

a ﬁlter, then Site Manager automatically adjusts

(reassigns) the precedence levels assigned to all

other ﬁlters on the same circuit.

You conﬁgure a drop-all action by specifying a

ﬁeld plus the action “drop all.”

You conﬁgure the “drop-all” action explicitly by

specifying a ﬁeld and entering as ﬁlter

parameters the minimum and maximum values

possible for that ﬁeld.

You cannot assign a name to a ﬁlter. You can assign a descriptive name to any

inbound or outbound trafﬁc ﬁlter.
