To enable or disable datagram RIF caching, navigate to the global
netbios-rif-cache prompt and enter:

For example, the following command enables datagram RIF caching on the source
routing bridge:
netbios-rif-cache# datagram enabled
Enabling and Disabling 15-Character NetBIOS Name Caching
You can enable or disable the ability of the source routing bridge to treat NetBIOS
names as 15-character entities. By default, 15-character name caching is disabled,
and the source routing bridge treats the names as 16-character entities.
To specify that the source routing bridge treat NetBIOS names as 15-character
entities, navigate to the global netbios-rif-cache prompt and enter:
char-naming-caching enabled
To specify that the source routing bridge revert to its default and treat NetBIOS
names as 16-character entities, navigate to the global netbios-rif-cache prompt and
enter:
char-naming-caching disabled
For example, the following command specifies that the source routing bridge
should treat NetBIOS names as 15-character entities:
netbios-rif-cache# char-naming-caching enabled
Enabling and Disabling the Creation of MIB Instances for Cached
Names
You can enable or disable the ability of the source routing bridge to:
• Create a MIB instance for each name entry stored in the name cache.
• Delete a MIB instance for each NetBIOS name entry that times out of the
name cache.
