Starting RSVP
To start RSVP on the router:
1. Configure a circuit on a slot and connector.
2. Configure an IP interface on the circuit.
3. Add RSVP to the IP interface.
For information and instructions on using Site Manager to configure a circuit on a
slot and connector, see see Configuring WAN Line Services or Configuring
Ethernet, FDDI, and Token Ring Services. When you have successfully
configured the circuit, the Select Protocols window opens. Proceed as follows:
Site Manager Procedure
You do this System responds
1. In the Select Protocols window, choose
the following protocols:
• IP
• RSVP
Then click on OK.
The IP Configuration window opens.
2. Set the following parameters:
• IP Address
• Subnet Mask
• Transmit Bcast Addr
• UnNumbered Assoc Address
Click on Help or see the parameter
descriptions beginning on page A-20.
3. Click on OK. The Initial RSVP Global Parameters
widow appears.
4. Click on Save. Site Manager queries you to create line
resources.
5. Click on OK. The Edit Line Resources window opens.
6. Edit the following parameters:
• Estimated Bandwidth
• Reservable Bandwidth
Click on Help or see the parameter
descriptions beginning on page A-22.
Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
7. Click on OK. Site Manager returns you to the
Configuration Manager window.
