Specifies the state of the adjacent host

ip-address No default Specifies the IP address of the device for
which you want to configure an adjacent host
mac-address No default Specifies the physical address of the adjacent
host. Enter the MAC address as a 12-digit
hexadecimal number.
vpi-vci No default Specifies the physical address of the adjacent
host. Enter an ATM PVC address in the form
virtual path identifier/virtual channel identifier,
for example, 0/32.
nsap No default Specifies the physical address of the adjacent
host. Enter the NSAP address (up to 20 bytes)
of the adjacent OSI system.
dlci No default Specifies the physical address of the adjacent
host. Enter the DLCI of the frame relay PVC.
wan-address No default Specifies the physical address of the adjacent
host. Enter a numeric value from 1 through 15
digits long.
encapsulation ethernet (default)

Specifies the adjacent hosts encapsulation
method. Select ethernet or snap (Service
Network Access Point) if you are defining a
point-to-point network interface or if the
adjacent host resides on an Ethernet. For an
adjacent host on an ATM logical IP subnet,
