Call Screening feature
By default, all clients have the call screening feature enabled. When call
screening is enabled, users see a call for each incoming call that presents
the numbers that the call can be answered on. When the user chooses a
number on the MCC 3100 incoming call dialog to answer the call, all other
phones stop ringing and the call present on the selected telephone.
When call screening is disabled, the MCC 3100 no longer presents a
dialog for each incoming call. The client automatically instructs the MCG
3100 to send a real cellular call to the mobile phone. The following things
must be considered when choosing call screening disabled:
• On most cellular networks it can take 5, 10 or more seconds to make a
call to a cell phone. For incoming calls, MCC 3100 users see their desk
phone ring immediately; however it may take 5, 10 or more seconds for
the cellular call to arrive at the mobile phone.
•
Due to the delay in the cellular network placing calls to the mobile
phone, you may need to increase the number of ring cycles before Call
Forward No Answer triggers, to give users sufficient time to answer
calls.
Otherwise users may only see the call ringing on the mobile device for
a short period of time.
• When call screening is disabled, all phones continue ringing until one of
the ringing devices answers the call.
