Configuring Line Services

Parameter: BOFL Frequency
Default: 1 second
Range: 1 to 60 seconds
Function: Specifies the interval in seconds between BOFL transmissions. This
parameter is valid only if BOFL is set to Enable.
After sending a BOFL message, the router starts a timer that has a value
equal to 5 times the setting of this parameter. If the router does not receive
a BOFL message from the remote peer before the timer expires, the router
disables the HSSI circuit, and then attempts to restart it.
Instructions: Accept the default, 1 second, or specify a new value, making certain that
both ends of the point-to-point connection are configured with the same
value.

Parameter: MTU
Default: 4608
Range: 3 to 4608 bytes
Function: Specifies the buffer size (the Maximum Transmission Unit) for the HSSI
port and, therefore, determines the largest frame that can travel across the
HSSI port.
Instructions: Set this parameter to a value appropriate for your network.

Function: Indicates which WAN protocol you enabled on this HSSI circuit.
