Each RMON tool is a complete application. After the tool requests and receives
information from the network management station, it processes the information
and displays a graphical summary of network traffic. Each tool is configurable, so
you can obtain exactly the type of information you need for a variety of purposes.
In Optivity Analysis, RMON tools represent an intelligent implementation of the
RMON MIB groups. T
able 4-1 summarizes the RMON-based tools and lists the
corresponding RMON MIB groups that they use to collect and present traffic
statistics.
