Meaning: Engine type set using the Technician Interface is an invalid value. Compression is enabled

using the default value, Software, unless you have configured an Octal Sync Link module

that has a hardware compression daughterboard, in which case the default value is

Hardware.

Action: If you want to use an engine type other than the default, set the Engine Type parameter

using either the Technician Interface or Site Manager.

Meaning: Search depth size set is an invalid value. Compression is enabled using the default value,

Action: If you want to use a search depth size other than the default value of 3, use the Technician

Interface to set the Search Depth parameter to a value in the range of 0 to 255. You should

set this parameter to 0 if you want to run the line in High Speed mode. Be aware that

setting this parameter to a value higher than 13 will not have an appreciable effect on

compression ratio, but will result in slower throughput.

Note:

This message should not appear if you have configured compression

using Site Manager, because Site Manager allows only one of the following

choices: Software / Hardware.
