Parameter: Interface Cost

Default: 0 hops

Range: 0 to 15 hops

Function: Speciﬁes the additional number of hops (cost) added to routes that this

interface learns via RTMP data packets.

Instructions: If you want to limit the use of an interface, assign a high cost. If you do

not want to limit the use of an interface, assign a low cost. See the

“Interface Costs” section in Chapter 2 for more information.

Parameter: Zone Filter Default Zone

Default: None

Options: Any valid zone name

Function: Speciﬁes the name of the Default Zone used for the 5.X Include or 5.X

Exclude options.

Instructions: Enter an appropriate zone name. A valid zone name contains from 1 to 32

characters and can include any character except for the asterisk (*). For

more information, refer to “Using Nonprintable Characters in AppleTalk

Zone Names” in Chapter 3.

Editing the AURP Zone Filter List

To edit the AURP zone ﬁlter list, begin at the AT AURP Interface Conﬁguration

window (F

igure 4-9) and click on Zone Filter. The AppleTalk Zone Filter

Conﬁguration window appears (see F

igure 4-5 earlier). AURP zone ﬁlter lists

work the same way as regular AppleTalk zone ﬁlter lists. For information on how

to conﬁgure zone ﬁlter lists, see the section “Conﬁguring AppleTalk Zone Filters”

in this chapter. Refer to the following AURP-speciﬁc zone parameters.
